Who are we?
The Friends of Pickering Community Infant and Nursery School are a very active voluntary group made up of parents, carers and staff of the school. All parents are automatically members of the FoS and are encouraged to support events and fundraisers as much as they can in order to benefit all the children in our school community.
What do we do?
We organise fundraising events at school throughout the year. These events raise much needed funding for workshops, school visits, extra-curricular activities and curriculum resources that help to enrich your children’s time at school. We provide brilliant support for children and their families whilst at school. There are huge benefits for members of the FoS as they are able to share the wonderful experiences our fundraising events offer and be a part of a friendly and committed team who work together throughout the year to achieve this. Fundraising events across the year include a Soup Kitchen for War Weekend, our Christmas Fair, Easter Bunny Drive, sponsored bounce and our Summer Fair.
Where does the funding go?
Previous fundraisers have enabled the following:-
- Maths packs for all reception children – updated with new and age appropriate resources in Year 1 and Year 2

- School visits for all year groups including to Beck Isle Museum, York Air Museum, Piglets and Tropical World to name but a few!
- Year 2 leaver’s disco
- PE bags for all new starters
- Visitors to school such as Little Red Riding Theatre Production and a visit from a few new friends from Flamingo Land!
