Curriculum Intent
We believe in providing our children with the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to select and use appropriate technology in a rapidly changing world where our lives are constantly being transformed by Computing. This will support children in becoming creative, reflective and independent learners.
We recognise that the use of Computing enhances teaching and learning across the curriculum by enabling rapid access to knowledge, information and experiences from a wide range of sources. Computing provides children with opportunities to explore, question and make sense of the world around them.
We believe that in order for children and adults to be effective users then they must have access to up to date hardware and software. We know that the use of Computing extends beyond the use of computers though and, as such, aim to provide children and staff with a wide range of resources to support teaching and learning in all areas of the curriculum.
Information about our curriculum can be found by clicking the links below. In Key Stage One, we use the DfE funded programme from the National Centre for Computing Education, Teach Computing. Further details in our Computing Curriculum Implementation Document are available on request from the school office.
